What is winter in Iceland like?

Winter in Iceland is cold but not as cold as most people expect: in Reykjavík the temperature is usually around 0°C, a little above or below, thanks to the Gulf Stream. It is often windy, the weather changes quickly, and the north and the highlands are colder and snowier than the south coast. The big difference is the light: in December the sun is up for only about four hours, while by March the days are longer than in many other countries.

Yes, if you want the Northern Lights, ice caves, snowy landscapes and fewer crowds. The days are short and the weather can change fast, so a guided tour is the easiest way to travel.
