Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Iceland Travel Guide handles your personal data, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Icelandic Data Protection Act (no. 90/2018).

Who is responsible

What we collect

Your name, email, phone number and nationality when you book or contact us.
Booking details: tours, dates, number of travellers, pick-up location and any information you give us (for example dietary needs).
Payment is processed by our booking and payment providers. We do not store your full card details.
Technical data such as your browser and pages visited, if you accept analytics cookies.

Why we use it

To make and manage your bookings and send confirmations.
To answer your questions and plan your trip.
To meet our legal obligations, such as accounting.
To send you news and offers, only if you have agreed to it. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We share only what is needed: with the operator running your tour, with our booking system provider (Bókun) and payment providers, and with service providers that help us run the website and email. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

Booking data is kept as long as needed for your trip and for accounting, as Icelandic law requires. Messages and enquiries are deleted when no longer needed.

Cookies

We use cookies that are needed for the website and booking calendar to work. Your saved tours and trip plan (My trip) and your currency choice are kept only in your own browser.

If you accept cookies, we also use Google Analytics to see how the website is used, and Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) pixel to measure our ads and show you relevant offers. If you choose “Only necessary”, these are not used to store anything on your device. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Your rights
