Seyðisfjörður is one of the most beautiful small towns in Iceland, at the end of a long, narrow fjord in the East. Ships dock right in the village, steps away from the famous rainbow-painted street that leads to the blue church. From here the road climbs over the Fjarðarheiði mountain pass to Egilsstaðir and on to Hengifoss, Lake Lagarfljót and the Stuðlagil basalt canyon.

At the harbour in the village, within walking distance of the rainbow street and the church.
About 1 hour 30 minutes each way, so plan a full day.
Yes, the whole village is walkable from the ship.
The Fjarðarheiði pass is the only road out of town. It is kept open in the cruise season, but weather can change quickly in the mountains.
