Djúpivogur is a small, peaceful fishing village in the southern East Fjords, at the foot of the pyramid-shaped Búlandstindur mountain. Ships usually anchor offshore and bring passengers into the harbour by tender. The village is small enough to explore on foot, and from here you can reach the Vestrahorn mountains, the town of Höfn and, on a long day, the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon.

Usually yes; ships anchor in the bay and passengers come ashore by tender boat.
Only on a long port day. It is about 2 hours 30 minutes each way, so it needs at least 7–8 hours ashore.
The granite eggs, the harbour, the old Langabúð house and the cafés. The village is easy to explore on foot.
