Six days is the shortest time in which our guided tours drive the whole Ring Road. It is also long enough for a relaxed trip based in Reykjavík, with a free day in the middle. This page has both, plus a private package and a six-day highland trek.
The Ring Road in six days is a full trip. A guide drives a small-group minibus of up to 18 guests around the country, with five hotel nights and breakfast included. Expect full days and early starts.
A Reykjavík-based package is the easier pace. Day 1 is your arrival and day 6 your departure. In between you take day tours to the Golden Circle, the South Coast and Snæfellsnes, and most packages leave you one free day.

This is the route of the 6 Day Iceland Ring Road Tour in Winter.
Yes. Three tours on this page do it with a guide at the wheel. The days are full, with early starts. On the winter tour the last day is the longest. None of the 6-day loops visits the Snæfellsnes peninsula.
Most 8-day tours drive the same loop and then add the Snæfellsnes peninsula and Borgarfjörður, so the way back to Reykjavík takes three days instead of one. Choose six days if your time is fixed, and eight if you can.
The three Ring Road tours include five nights with breakfast. So do the Winter Package, the Package with Hotel and the Budget Package. On the other packages you book your own Reykjavík hotel.
The Family Vacation Package has no minimum age on any of its tours, and child seats are available on selected tours if you ask in advance. The Ring Road tours are for ages 8 and up, and the trek for ages 15 and up.
From October to April you have a chance on clear, dark nights. The Ring Road tour in winter stays in countryside hotels away from city lights. Three of the Reykjavík-based packages start with a Northern Lights tour on the first evening. They are never guaranteed.
The Ring Road tours pick up in Reykjavík from 8:00 in the morning, not at Keflavík airport, so arrive the day before. The packages start with your airport transfer on day 1.
One suitcase of about 24 inches per person on the winter and summer tours. The 6 Day Around Iceland Tour allows one bag of up to 20 kg plus a small backpack. Extra bags can be stored in Reykjavík for a fee.
The winter tour and the summer tour drive the same loop in different seasons. Both include a glacier hike, an ice cave and whale watching from Hauganes, and the summer tour adds Stuðlagil canyon and Dettifoss. The 6 Day Around Iceland Tour runs all year. It includes a glacier hike in summer or an ice cave in winter, plus whale watching, and returns through Siglufjörður and West Iceland.

On the Ring Road tours you stay in hotel rooms with a private bathroom, shared by two people, with breakfast included. Most of our multi-day tours use 3-star hotels unless the tour page says otherwise, and you can usually ask for a double bed or twin beds. If you travel alone, you pay a single room supplement for your own room.
No. You can sit out an activity, such as the glacier hike or the whale watching, and wait for the group. There is usually nothing else planned for that time.
Yes. The 6-Day Private Tour Package gives you your own driver-guide and vehicle. Ask us if you want a private trip on a different route, such as the Ring Road.
