5 day Iceland tours and packages

There are two ways to spend five days in Iceland with us, and your first choice is between them.

A touring trip moves every day. A guide drives a small-group minibus through West Iceland, Snæfellsnes, the Golden Circle and the South Coast to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. You sleep in countryside hotels, and all five days are touring days, so you arrive in Iceland the day before.

A Reykjavík-based package keeps you in the capital. Day 1 is your arrival and day 5 your departure, with airport transfers included and day tours with hotel pick-up in between. The price is lower, partly because your Reykjavík hotel is not included, and you see less of the country.

We are a local travel agency in Iceland. Our trips are run in partnership with local guides here in Iceland, and some we operate ourselves. We answer your questions before and during your trip.

Questions people ask

Do the five days include my arrival and departure days?

On the Reykjavík-based packages, yes: day 1 is arrival and day 5 is departure, which leaves three full days of tours. On the two touring trips, no: all five days are on the road, so arrive the day before.

Is the hotel included?

The two touring trips include four nights with breakfast and a private bathroom. The Reykjavík-based packages on this page do not include your Reykjavík hotel, so you choose your own. If you want the hotel included, look at the 6-day package with hotel.

Can I see Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon in 5 days?

Yes, on both touring trips and on the 5 Day Iceland Itinerary, which has a 2-day South Coast tour. The other Reykjavík-based packages go as far as Reynisfjara or Vík.

Is the Blue Lagoon included?

The three winter packages include comfort admission to the Blue Lagoon on the Golden Circle day. The touring trips do not visit the Blue Lagoon.

Do these trips run in summer?

The two touring trips and the private package run all year. The three Reykjavík-based packages are built around a Northern Lights tour and run from October to April. The Laugavegur trek runs from June to September.

Will I see the northern lights?

The three winter packages start with a Northern Lights tour on the first evening. On the touring trips you look for them from countryside hotels on clear nights. They are never guaranteed.

Is there a minimum age?

The two touring trips and the three Reykjavík-based packages are for ages 8 and up. The private package has no minimum age. The trek is for ages 15 and up.

What is the difference between the two touring trips?

They cover the same regions. The 5 Day Iceland Tour includes a glacier hike, an ice cave tour and the Víðgelmir lava cave. Best of Iceland in 5 Days visits the Vatnshellir lava cave on Snæfellsnes, and its glacier activity depends on the season.

What are the rooms like?

On the two touring trips you stay in hotels, in rooms with a private bathroom, with breakfast included. Most of our multi-day tours use 3-star hotels unless the tour page says otherwise, and you can usually ask for a double bed or twin beds. The price is per person in a shared room. Ask us for the price of a single room.

Do I have to join every activity?

No. You can sit out an activity, such as the glacier hike or a lava cave, and wait for the group. There is usually nothing else planned for that time.

How is the private package priced?

Per vehicle, not per person, for groups of 1 to 4, 5 to 8 or 9 to 18 people. Ask us if you want a private trip on a different route.
