A ticket to the Icelandic Phallological Museum, a small and famously unusual museum in central Reykjavík with specimens from more than 90 animal species, plus some folklore pieces on the side.
This is one of Reykjavík's odder attractions, and also one of its best known: a museum built entirely around a single, very specific collecting theme. It holds specimens from more than 90 species found in Iceland, from whales down to smaller land mammals, alongside a folklore section and a handful of curiosities.
It is a small museum, so most visitors are done in under an hour, though you can easily spend longer reading the labels if the subject interests you. It sits right in the centre of Reykjavík, near Bæjarins Beztu, the well-known hot dog stand, so it is easy to fit in alongside other sightseeing on foot.
It is more curious than crude, and children are welcome (free under 13 with a parent), though some visitors may prefer to judge for themselves whether it suits their group before booking.
Yes. It's family-friendly, and children under 13 enter free with a parent.
Most visitors spend under an hour and a half.
In central Reykjavík, close to Bæjarins Beztu, the well-known hot dog stand.
It is exactly what it says: a museum dedicated to one subject, with a lighter folklore section too.
