About the Westfjords tour from Ísafjörður
The Westfjords are Iceland's quietest region, but even here a handful of places, especially Dynjandi waterfall, get busy when day tours from Ísafjörður all arrive at once. This tour is built to avoid that: your guide calls you before the day to talk through what you want to see, then plans a route and timing around it and the weather.
Depending on your interests, the day might take in remote fjords such as Dýrafjörður, Arnarfjörður or Önundarfjörður, a stop at Fossfjörður to look for seals, a walk in the Korpudalur valley, or the fishing village of Flateyri. Dynjandi, the Westfjords' best-known waterfall, is usually included but timed to reach it when it is quieter.
It is an easy, private day out with short walks rather than long hikes, so it suits most ages and fitness levels. In summer you may add a stop at Látrabjarg for puffins (roughly May to August), and optional water activities such as paddleboarding or wakeboarding can be arranged at an extra cost.
Weather in the Westfjords changes quickly and roads can be narrow and gravel in places, so your guide adjusts the plan on the day if conditions require it.
