Relaxing in the Vök Nature Baths was pure bliss! The geothermal water was perfect, and the views of the lake made it even more special. Thankful to Iceland Travel Guide to have included this in my itinerary!

Vök Baths is East Iceland's largest geothermal spa, set right on the edge of Lake Urriðavatn near Egilsstaðir. This admission gives you access to the floating pools, hot tubs, sauna and a cold-water tunnel out into the lake.
Vök Baths sits on Lake Urriðavatn, a few kilometres from Egilsstaðir in East Iceland, an area with far fewer geothermal spas than the south or west of the country. The standout feature is two pools built level with the lake surface, so the warm water and the cold lake meet almost at your feet.
Beyond the floating pools there are hot pools with lake views, a sauna, and a cold tunnel that lets you step out into the lake itself if you want the classic hot-cold contrast. The water here is different from many Icelandic hot springs: it has little sulphur or silica, so there's no strong smell, and it's actually drinkable.
There's a pool bar for drinks without leaving the water, a tea bar serving Icelandic herbal tisanes, and a restaurant on site for something more substantial. Since it's the main geothermal spa in this part of the country, it's a natural stop if you're touring East Iceland or doing a Diamond Circle or Seyðisfjörður itinerary.
No, it's only about 5 km away, on the edge of Lake Urriðavatn.
The geothermal water here is low in sulphur and silica compared with many other Icelandic hot springs, so it lacks the typical eggy smell.
Yes, there's a restaurant and a pool bar on site, not included in the admission. A cup of herbal tisane from the infusion bar is included.
Yes, it's an easy stop if you're touring the Diamond Circle, Lake Mývatn area or the East Fjords.
