About the fishing tour from Reykjavik

This full-day tour takes you out of Reykjavík to fish two well-known rivers, the Sog and the Hólaá, for Arctic char and brown trout. Your guide provides the fishing equipment, the licence for the water, and hands-on guiding, so it works whether you've never held a fly rod or you fish regularly at home.

The day runs about 7 to 8 hours, with pick-up and drop-off at your Reykjavík accommodation included. Lunch is not included, so bring your own food or check whether it can be arranged in advance. Because all fishing equipment brought into Iceland from abroad has to be disinfected at the airport, using the tour's own gear is the simplest option if you're travelling with your own rod.

Conditions and results vary with the season and the weather, as with any fishing trip, and your guide will adjust the plan and locations based on water levels and what's biting on the day. It's a relaxed way to spend a day outside the city, with the option to add a Golden Circle stop if you want to combine sightseeing with the fishing.
