Laugarás Lagoon opened in 2025 in the village of Laugarás, in the Golden Circle area of South Iceland. It sits inland from the coast, close to Flúðir, and makes an easy stop on a Golden Circle day or a night on its own if you're staying nearby.
The lagoon itself is warm, geothermally heated water, alongside a cold plunge pool, two saunas and a waterfall bath. There's also a private grotto and a swim-up bar, so you can order a drink without leaving the water. The site has a restaurant if you're booked on the Ösp pass or just want lunch afterwards.
Because it's newer and further from Reykjavík than the Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon, it tends to be quieter. Iceland's weather can still turn quickly here, so bring a warm layer for the walk between the changing rooms and the water, especially outside summer.
