About the paragliding in Vík

This is a tandem paragliding flight above Vík, on Iceland's South Coast, flown with a certified pilot who does the flying while you enjoy the view. You are driven up to a launch point above the town, then take off together and glide down over the black sand coastline near Reynisfjara.

No paragliding experience is needed. Your pilot can fly a calm, steady flight or add some gentle turns if you want more of a thrill, so it suits both nervous first-timers and people looking for excitement. The whole outing, including transport up to launch and the briefing, takes about an hour, with the flight itself lasting several minutes.

Flying depends entirely on the weather and wind, so this is a summer activity and flights can be postponed or cancelled at short notice if conditions are not safe. Photos and video from a GoPro are included so you have something to look back on.
